A lucky blouse

Hello everyone.

Today you get a short blog post because the full post is up on Minerva! So just a few words the Adrienne Blouse by the  Friday Pattern Company (which I was lucky enough to win in a giveaway hosted by Toasted Thread).

I’ve made two so far. The first is this blue one, which I made from one metre of something I found on sale at The Fabric Store (I’m so bad at taking note of what fabric I buy, not just because I buy everything on sale, without taking into account the actual fabric, but also because I tend to hoard it for a year or two before I use it. I’m working on it). It was stretchy, and slinky, and nice to touch. Sewing it was a bit more difficult, but I used spray starch and a very small cutting matt to help me out.

I only had one metre of fabric, so I had to make the sleeves 10cm shorter. As a shorter person which correspondingly shorter arms, this meant the sleeves ended at my elbow. Personally I prefer this length because I think the mid-forearm length makes my arms look particularly short. So good news for any XS or S people who are 160cm tall or shorter, you can probably make this pattern with one metre of fabric.

[Edit: Hello, this is future Gabriella coming in with more information about sizing. I’m 1.60cm (5’2”) tall, with a bust measurement of 86cm (33”), waist measurement of 70cm (27”), hip measurement of 97cm (38”). I made the small size in this pattern].

This is the second one I made. If you want to read all about it and see more photos, follow this link here.
